Wild Day in Wyoming

We awoke to light snow flurries this morning.

After a quick look at the weather forecast we decided to keep going west because it looked like most of the precipitation was light and east of us, we were mistaken.
Almost immediately after leaving Cheyenne the snow got heavier and accumulations got deeper.
The roads seemed clear so I was not too worried.  As we drove higher into the mountains the temperature began to drop, the snow got heavier, and the highway began to get snow covered.  The temperature eventually got down to about 27 degrees.  The speed limit signs on I-80 in Wyoming are electronic so they can change the speed limit when necessary.  The speed limit dropped to 45mph and most people stayed in the right lane which was mostly clear because there was a snow plow about a quarter of a mile in front of us. When we finally got to the top of the mountain there was a steep grade going down the other side and the speed limit dropped to 35mph.
I stayed behind some trucks doing about 30 until we reached the bottom.  Soon the snow stopped and the temperature rose back above freezing and the road cleared.

The weather kept improving throughout the day and by the time we got to Utah about 3:30pm it was sunny and in the 60's.
Tonight we are in a very nice little campground called Holiday Hill RV park in Coalville, UT.  We are camped next to a small river with a cattle farm on the other side.
