Northern Utah was very pretty with snow capped mountains and green valleys which eventually gave way to high desert.
One surprise was seeing a moose standing about 50 feet from the road as we drove through a narrow mountain pass. Idaho was lower in elevation and greener with a lot more agricultural activity. We stopped at the town of Burley for lunch and supplies then headed for Twin Falls and our main destination for the day, Shoneshone Falls. Near the town of Twin Falls the Snake River cuts a very narrow deep canyon in an otherwise flat plain.

The drive down into the canyon was narrow and windy and a little scary pulling a trailer but the view was well worth it. I was totally amazed at the size and power of this waterfall. Apparently we came at a good time as there is a lot less water later in the summer when all of the snow has melted and the fields are being irrigated.

After leaving Twin Falls we drove to Boise and camped for the night just west of Boise in a KOA. A soak in their hot tub felt great after 5 days of driving. Also should mention that it was 89 degrees when we arrived in Boise, quite a change from yesterday. Paid $2.49 for regular gas today and camping here was about $40 for full hookups, hot tub and indoor pool. 😎
