If it weren't for bad luck......

We headed for our next destination today, Napa, CA.  The first part of the drive was through the Sierra Mtns.

Then, just as we were coming out of the mountains, the truck blew a tire.  There wasn't much of a shoulder but I finally was able to find a spot to pull off.   Luckily, it was on the passenger side so I wasn't in danger of getting run over while I changed the tire.

The traffic from Sacramento to Napa was pretty heavy so I did not get any pictures.  The land is mostly flat with lots of fruit orchards, farms and wineries.
It was in the 80s today and clear.  It is very dry here so the people are very nervous about wildfires.

  1. Your previous post about Virginia City was much nicer than this report of another mechanical problem. You had a lot less probelmes on the Alaska trip, no? Blame the heat.

  2. Meant to say, Terry's sister and niece live down on the south end of Napa Valley. Been there several times...before every winery decided to charge a fee for their tastings.
