Not much to report today. We drove from Hinton, Alberta to Dawson Creek, British Columbia, about 305mi. Left about 7:30am and arrived about 1pm. A little warmer today, starting in mid 50s and rising to mid 70s.
The first part of the drive was through rolling pine forests, reminiscent of south Georgia plus much of it was in 35mph construction zone.
Almost no signs of human habitation for 100 miles but We saw lots of deer and one caribou.
Got an occassional glimpse of the mountains as we rode through the foothills before finally getting back to the plains.
We will be spending a few days in Dawson Creek meeting the rest of our group. The campground we are meeting in was full tonight so we are at the Mile 0 Campground where we have water and electric and WiFi for $25/night with Good Sam discount. The WiFi is great on Nancy's laptop but will not connect at all on mine. If only I knew a good computer person...
Another couple in our caravan is camped next to us, they seem very nice.
We made a trip to WallyWorld this afternoon to restock supplies and refilled one of our propane tanks at the CO-OP store.
Gas this morning was $0.959/liter ($3.68/gal) but here in Dawson Creek it is $1.069/liter ($4.105) which means I will be paying over $4/gal for the first time (Ouch!).
While I have fast internet service, here are some more photos from previous days:
I feel like we are catching up. Not really, but we will be in Alberta tomorrow.
