Building the Mardi Gras float

Luckily, we did not have anything planned early today because I woke up with a headache and upset stomach (No, it wasn't a hangover). After breakfast I took some medicine and went back to bed. By 9:30am I was feeling fine just in time to go back to James' and Yvette's house to assemble and decorate the float. James had already constructed and painted the sides so we only had to reassemble them.

After adding some garland and some signs we had it ready to go. It really looks good!

Turned out that the trailer was too heavy for James' truck so Bob volunteered his.

Once we finished decorating we started loading the beads and other goodies we are going to throw at the parade tomorrow. It is going to be one crowded trailer!

James' neighbor, Dwayne, came over and cooked for us again. This time we had jambalaya and it was delicious as usual.

We also had some more king cake which is like a cinnamon roll filled with different fillings.

Our gracious hosts, the Menard family

  1. Looks like lots of fun! (Only 4 pounds gained? Must have been low cal crawfish and jumbalaya. I know the King Cake wasn't!)

BTW...Terry wants to know where's Yoda?
