Waiting

Today we waited around to see if Shannon could move back into her house. Unfortunately, they discovered asbestos tile in the house so she can’t move back in until that is replaced.  So we are going to leave the camper here for her and head home tomorrow.
Below are some action shots of our weeding last week.

PS Had trouble loading pictures so l am posting this from home.

Relaxing

Just realized I forgot to publish the post I wrote Thursday. Shannon went to Knoxville for the weekend so Nancy and I are resting after a hard week of weeding. Weather is still too cool for the beach so we just drove around the Islands yesterday and went to a few yard sales and the Goodwill store. Spent the afternoon watching the Masters golf tournament on TV.
Thursday afternoon we went to the Boone Hall plantation across the road and picked some strawberries.
Are we there yet?

CHPI FOMO FOSU

CHPI is National Park Service acronym for Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, FOMO is acronym for Fort Moultrie and FOSU is acronym for Fort Sumter, all part of Fort Sumter National Monument.  Nancy, Copper and I have been here 11 days.

The first week  we were helping Shannon move everything out of her living quarters so a cleaning service could come in and clean and treat the house for mold.  The living quarters are in an old Coast Guard building from late 1890s.
Last Saturday we went canoeing in the Audubon Center at Beidler Forest.

Sunday we visited the Magnolia Plantation gardens and nature area.

This week we have been volunteering at CHPI cleaning and weeding flower beds and Camellia beds.  Yesterday we also got to go to FOSU to help Shannon with a museum exhibit. They allowed us to camp at CHPI so Shannon would not have to go to a hotel.
