Olympic National Park - Day 3

After listening to it rain most of the night I was surprised to awaken to sunshine!
Our campsite  near Forks, WA
We still had off and on light showers all day but nothing too bad.  Temps were from mid 40s this morning to low 50s this afternoon. Today we moved from Forks, WA to Port Angeles, WA on the north side of the park.   Most of the park is accessible by hiking only as there are very few roads actually inside it.  So we have been driving around the perimeter and accessing the few areas with roads. The first part of the park we saw today was the Sol Duc River valley at the northern tip of the park.

Next we drove by Lake Crescent which was as smooth as glass.

What a beautiful sight

Lake Crescent Lodge
Near Lake Crescent was a beautiful waterfall at the end of a 1 mile hike.

Marymere Falls

After the hike to the falls we drove to Port Angeles on the northern border of Washington,  We found a KOA with full hookups, wifi and cell phone service so that is where we will be the next couple of days.  After lunch we drove to the beach and picked up seashells and watched the surfers.
