Edinburgh Day 2

Thursday night we stayed at a residence hall for the University of Edinburgh which was quite nice for the price and included the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. Friday started out cold and wet but soon cleared off and turned out quite nice. We started the day shopping at local charity shops (like our thrift stores) then headed for the National Museum of Scotland.

 Early steam machine
Main hall

Very cool millennium clock with lots of moving parts

 Cast of Queen Mary's tomb
Beheading machine last used in early 1700's

Cradle used by King James of Scotland

Yoda checking out a giant geode

 Megan and a T-rex
 Weaving machine
Early steam engine used to pump water

Next we just kind of wandered around town.

Another castle view

Dorm where we stayed

Another Pub stop

After 2 days of walking up and down these hills the pub stops became more frequent.

This Irish pub looked interesting..

The closest I am going to get to seeing the British Open, a bar in Edinburgh
 Yoda makes some drinking buddies
This is called a steeplechase, you won't be seeing Yoda for a few days.
