Hearst Castle

A cool day in California. It was in the low 40's this morning.  The group drove to Hearst Castle on the coast. It was a very scenic drive.
Hearst Castle was a vacation home for William Randolph Hearst.  The house was started in 1920 and construction continued for over 15 years and never totally completed. The house is now a state park and museum.
Visitors Center

Lots of  artwork everywhere.

40 of the rooms in the house have ceilings from old European buildings, some over 400 years old.
