Where is summer?

It was 44 deg and raining when we left Great Falls, MT this morning and it did not get any better. It rained most of the day and even mixed in a little snow every now and then for good measure. Temps fell into upper 30s in the mountains.

Arrived at Glacier KOA about 11am. It was good to have a relatively short drive for a change. After setting up the trailer and eating lunch we drove over to Glacier National Park. Despite the rain the scenery was breathtaking.
The mountains were mostly covered by clouds but occassionally the clouds would part to reveal a new blank of snow.
The mountains are very steep and rugged with beautiful lakes in the valleys.

The main road through the park is still partially closed by winter snow but we were able to drive about 12 miles into the heart of the mountains.

Nancy is finding lots of wildflowers to photograph, too.

It is supposed to rain all night and in the morning but hopefully will clear some tomorrow afternoon and warm up a little.
Gas today was $2.79 in Great Falls and camping is $50 per night for full hookups, hot tub, heated pool, no TV, a fabulous view and slow, slow, slow WiFi. So won't be posting many pictures.

  1. Who needs TV when there's a heated pool and a hot tub? Especially with views like that.

Also that road in the fifth photo looks scary.
I don't like being that close to the edge of a cliff.

  2. Also, I am jealous of your snow. It was 95 degrees in Nashville today. And the high temperatures through this Monday are predicted to be in the high 90s. It's going to be almost 100 degrees this weekend. ONE HUNDRED DEGREES. ugh...
